Paul Curtis has been performing in & around Adelaide for 25 years. He has been involved with everything from original bands to “MY GENERATION” the “WHO” tribute band to numerous corporate & pub cover bands. He did a stint of solo work in the late 80’s & some duo work with Peter Tilbrook. (ex Masters Apprentices).
Pauls’ currently in 2 bands, the “Rippers”
(“one of the last honest rock n roll cover bands” )& “Satisfaction” – the Rolling Stones review.
Paul has recently rekindled his passion
for live solo acoustic work. “After many years of sharing the stage
with your band mates” , says Paul “it can be a bit daunting being out there on your own,
but when it all works right; it’s a buzz of a different kind”.
Pauls solo repertoire is as wide & varied as his career & includes many tunes he has ‘modified’ for solo performance.
“There’s a couple of songs I do where people have come up to me & said” – “ I can’t believe you pulled that song off with only guitar & voice”
“I draw from songs that I’ve been playing in bands for many years such as classics by the “the Stones, the Who, Cold Chisel” etc, to more ‘recent classics’ e.g. Pete Murray, Robbie Williams, Powder Finger & Thirsty Merc.”“I try to cater for a large cross section of punter” –Paul says.
Since Pauls’ re entry into the solo performing world he has been very well received & put on rotation in numerous venues around Adelaide.
