HISTORY - Italian parents arrived on 741st fleet. Vince born 21/3/61. Graduate of Architecture, B.Sc(ARCH) 179-81 and B.Arch 1982-1984, Sydney University. Star and writer of popular Architecture Revues, Vince built a name as one of a band of new wave comics working at the newly established Sydney Comedy Store. Was a nationally known performer before he graduated in 1985.
STAGE - Vince has literally worked everywhere form Hobart to Darwin, New York, Los Angeles, London, Edinburgh, Venice, Tokyo and S.E. Asia, averaging almost 200 performances per year over the last decade. He has shared stages with talent as varied as Robin Williams, Phyllis Diller, Midnight Oil and Barry White. He has entertained Mew Yorkers and New Guinean Highlanders, Prime Ministers and Rugby Players. He has performed in intimate comedy clubs and giant sporting stadiums. Vince Sorrenti's work is regarded as seminal in the development of Australian Humour and ethnic cultural relations. Recently co-starred in the acclaimed Robyn Archer production of 'Accidental death of an Anarchist'.
TELEVISION - Hosted his own nightly youth talk show 'The Big Blank Show' on American MTV whilst living in New York. Hosted the national game shows 'Let's Make A Deal' and Telespin on the TEN network. Host of the ground breaking 'Video Comedy Show' on the ABC. Won American CBS 'International Starsearch'. Resident humourist for ABC's '7.30 Report' and 9's 'A Current Affair.' He participated in the historic Australia Live broadcast to 200 million people in 1988. Vince has appeared on every program that has guests from'Hey Hey It's Saturday' to 'Face the Press' and 'Burkes Backyard' to the 'Footy Show'. He has acted on 'Neighbours', debated social issues on SBS forums, hosted 'Live and Sweaty' and spun the 'Wheel of Fortune'.
FILM - Co-wrote and starred in 'No Laughing Matter', an environmental documentary shot in India, Italy, France and Australia. The film won a gold medal at the New York Film Festival where Vince was also nominated for 'Most Outstanding New Talent'. Played Detective Bonelli in 'Shotgun Wedding'. Co-wrote the FFC fully funded feature 'Gino'. Co-wrote the recently optioned Italian Australian co-production 'Back to Italy'. Vince will star in the feature film.
Apart from presenting on television, Vince is often used as a presenter on corporate videos. Over the past 12 months Vince Sorrenti has become one of the industries most sought after awards ceremony presenters and hosts. He has presented everything from Master Builders Awards to the Fish Market Authority's King of the Sea.
