The Sixties Explosion Show, a Tribute to the music of the 60’s
The Sixties Explosion show despite being off the road for 4 months in early 2006 have still managed a number of memorable gigs. The two most notable being Toyota Aust. in April and the Living Desert Show in August for Country Energy, with to more come later in the year.
The Sixties Explosion Show’s memorable gigs in 2005 were, Globe derby Park (was pretty special with one of the biggest crowds they’ve had nearly 5,0000 people), April/May the band went into rehearsal for the first of their Theatre Shows. Golden Grove Theatre was close to a sell out and a great success, Port Noarlunga Theatre was a sell out and the band received a standing ovation at the end of the show.
In July it was the Kennelworth Football Clubs annual ball. October saw the opening of the revamped Stonyfell Function centre. December saw the Show heading off to Broken Hill for their Annual Xmas Pageant.
High profile gigs include: Australia day celebrations at Pt Pirie, Globe derby Park Summer Trotting Carnival four years in a row, the 2004 Clipsal 500 After race Concert. Also numerous corporate events for the likes of The Variety Club, Southcorp wines, Boart Longyear, the Y4 club 30 year reunion.
In 2004 the show shared top billing with International act Al James and his Neil Diamond Tribute Show.
Over the years the Boys have shared the stage with many of the greats of Australian rock & Roll, including Billy Thorpe, Joe Camaleri, the Radiators, Divinyls, Misex, Ian Moss, Swannee and John St Peters.
The Boys were one of the biggest PopRock/Original bands to come out of Adelaide in the late 1970’s early 1980’s they toured nationally had 2 local top40 hits and released a live independent Cassette album. In 2000 the original members reformed after 18 years and now present the Sixties Explosion Show.
